Featured Artist-in-Residence Julia Chiang is the Artist-in-Residence at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is a graduate of New York University where she studied both Art History and Studio Art. Julia works with various materials ranging from hand embroidery to large scale installations. Along with exhibiting her work she has been on residency in China at Hap Clay Studios, Vermont Studio Center, and Henry Street Settlement. She is currently a part of Copilandia, an exhibition in Spain celebrating the free exchange of art and ideas. "I am inspired every day that I am in the hospital with the diverse
individuals that I meet and work with. Sometimes we collaborate and sometimes
they know exactly what they want to do. Their extreme strength and willingness
to try something new in such difficult times is always amazing to me. The Creative Center's Artist-in-Residence Program, a program that brings
NY area art to the bedsides of cancer patients, is currently in 20 hospital
and hospice sites -- Beth Israel Comprehensive Cancer Center, Beth Israel
Medical Center, Brooklyn Hospital Center, Calvary Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian
Hospital, Englewood Hospital in New Jersey, Lenox Hill Hospital, Long
Island College Hospital, New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York University
Medical Center, North General Hospital, St. Lukes- Roosevelt Hospital,
